Sean Dolan's Cup

Published: 28th Apr, 2026

On Friday it was our boys’ turn to participate in the Sean Dolan’s Cup and what a fantastic day it was! An excellent pitch and glorious weather meant that conditions were ideal for Gaelic football and both of our teams (bands and stripes) certainly  reveled in the sunshine.  After the round robin format, ‘stripes’ narrowly prevailed in the shield final against an excellent Rosemount side, with the winning points coming in the dying seconds of the game.  Immediately afterwards,  our ‘bands’ side ground out a hard fought victory against a valiant Holy Child side in the cup final. To round off a fabulous day, Myles was voted Ogra Gael of the tournament and presented with a beautiful shirt by sponsors MFC.   Both of these teams have now qualified for the Tower Cup.  After the girls’ success last week, we now have four teams (46 children) qualified for the city finals.  Well done players and coaches!
