Fiftenn of our p7 girls enjoyed a brilliant experience today thanks to Women's Tec, based over in the Rathmor Business Park. Thanks to the excellent tutors, Hayley and Tyler, our girls had the opportunities to get their hands dirty using a variety of tools. They developed joinery skills in making little keyring keepsakes and they learned about changing a tyre, the braking system on a car and a few of the key components under the bonnet.Women's Tec aim to encourage girls to branch out into jobs that are perceived to be for men. Whatever job these girls end up doing, they have definitely learned some useful life skills today, all while having a very enjoyable few hours out of class.
