Our football team won the medium schools' section of the Derry Primary Schools' FA 5 a side tournament at the Bay Road. St. John's qualified in second place from their group after wins over Rosemount, Greenhaw and Glendermott and a defeat at the hands of St. Therese's. In the semi-final St. John's overcame Long Tower to win through to play St. Therese's again, as they defeated Holy Child on penalties. In the final, St. John's learned from their mistakes in the earlier game against St. Therese's. This time our boys were determined to take their chances and ran out convincing winners.
