3B have been exploring the vibrant festival of Diwali, learning about its cultural significance and traditions. After reading the story of Rama and Sita, they discovered why light plays an important role in this celebration. We discussed how diyas; small lamps, symbolise the triumph of light over darkness or good over evil.
To bring this tradition to life, the children designed and created a diya, using bright colours and patterns to reflect the joy and warmth of the festival. This hands on activity not only encouraged creativity, but also deepened their understanding of Diwali as a celebration of hope, family and togtherness.
