The skills of reading, writing and listening lie at the heart of our curriculum. Our teaching strategies provide a wide range of learning opportunities. Children are immersed in a sea of fiction, non-fiction, drama and discussion. We have individual class libraries and reading is promoted widely in the school. The travelling “Book Fair”,World Book Day and associated activities are annual events supported by the entire school community. Our children enjoy strong links with the Library Service. Every opportunity is taken to instil in the children a love of reading and literature. ICT educational packages Accelerated Reader and Lexia are used widely throughout the school to support learning.
