Year 5 have been learning about length this week. The children have been using their prior knowledge of non-standard units of measurment to measure items around the classroom. Today, the chuldren were asked to build towers of different sizes and then estimate their length. The children then used a ruler to check their estimates. The children really enjoyed this activity and it allowed them to understand what length means in a real life context.
