Local Democracy Week

Our School Council had a fabulous day at the Guildhall, Derry, as part of Local Democracy Week. The children met Mayor McHugh and Deputy Mayor McMorris. The children learned about how local government works.

Huge congratulations to DCSDC on their recent recognition as a child centred council.

We hope to see Luke’s motion for greater play facilities for all children throughout the city in action. It is every child’s right to play! Article 31 UN conversation on the Rights of the child.

Of course, we had to treat ourselves to a wee Derry bun on our way!
