Today we welcomed Peter, to our school assembly, to tell us all about the Benemerenti medal which has been awarded to Mrs Kathleen Doherty by Pope Leo X1V. Kathleen was a highly respected teacher and vice-principal in our local community. She was also responsible for introducing Shared Education to our school in 2011. Kathleen has also shaped youth club provision for the children and young people of Creggan for over 50 years. Kathleen is an extremely worthy recipient of this award and we at St John’s PS thank her for her years of dedication and service.
